Jay Carney to Piers Morgan: Scandals involving IRS, Benghazi, AP ‘don’t exist’

In Thursday, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told CNN’s Piers Morgan that the three major scandals involving the IRS, Benghazi and the Associated Press phone records “don’t exist,” The Blaze reported.

“You’re concocting scandals that don’t exist,” he told Morgan when asked how the administration would “restore the faith that some Americans have lost” in its transparency.

“Especially with regard to the Benghazi affair that was contrived by Republicans and, I think, has fallen apart largely this week,” Carney added.

“The fact of the matter is that this administration has a record on transparency that outdoes any previous administrations. And we are committed to that. The president is committed to that,” he told Morgan.

Carney dismissed the scandal involving the Benghazi terror attack as “a faux controversy stirred up by Republicans.”

“When [President Obama] found out… that there had been inappropriate and wrong conduct by IRS personnel… he spoke out about it, he made clear he thought it was an outrage and he has taken action,” Carney said.

Acting IRS Commissioner Steven Miller resigned his position, but reports said that Miller, who took over the agency last year, wrote a “face-saving” email saying he would be leaving next month because his assignment would be over.

While testifying before the House Ways and Means Committee Friday, Miller would not say who was responsible for targeting some 500 conservative groups.

“I don’t think targeting is wrong,” he reportedly told the committee.

Meanwhile, the official who was in charge of the IRS department overseeing tax-exempt organizations at the time conservative groups were targeted is now in charge of the department that will oversee enforcement of Obamacare.

On the AP phone scandal, Carney said it is “entirely inappropriate” for the president to engage in a criminal investigation.

A reader at The Blaze wondered if “there a watch swinging back and forth in front of the camera” when Carney made his claims.

David Campbell says:

The scandals indeed exist, and what is scarier is the ones we have yet to be made aware of.. this administration makes Nixon look like a choir boy and has been taught well by the Clintons.

Not one but two dirt bags.

So the republicans caused Benghazi, they left our people there to die. Miller didn't know who ordered The IRS stings. "BULL". He was told just what to say and what not to say. AS for transparency, there is none in this administration. Everything is block and or sealed. Jay Carney in nothing but a mouth piece for Obama and most of the time doesn't have a clue as to what he is saying.
