Governor Rick Perry wasted no time responding and released the following statement on the attacks by the Obama administration:
Yet again, the Obama Administration would rather point fingers at other people than accept any of the responsibility for Obamacare’s failure.
The truth is, the more people learn about Obamacare, the less they like it, and the most egregious examples of misinformation have come directly from the president himself, with false promises that people could keep their existing plans and they could continue going to their own doctor.
Texas is not the reason Obamacare is failing; it’s failing because it’s simply bad policy.
The governor is precisely right. The issue is not that Texas did not expand Medicare. The fact is the law is bad and no one wants it.
Everything the Affordable Care Act claims to do for the people of this nation is nothing more than that—a claim. At every turn it fails and hurts those it purports to help. —Ed.
