Former Fox News anchor Alisyn “Alinsky” Camerota, now a propagandist at Fake News CNN, takes advantage of her tenure with the competitor to hurl some thinly-veiled accusations and predictions of more chaos to come.
She says she was at Fox for a long time, knows a lot about the culture, and that she still has friends there who have a feeling that there “is actually more to come. This isn’t the end. That just Bill O’Reilly leaving, there’s more to come.” She expands beyond the mere rumors of her fellow America-hating libs, saying, “And in fact we know that there’s still an investigation, a Justice Department, a criminal investigation, and where do we think that might lead?”
Certainly if anyone can speculate on that and report it as fact, it’s this motley crew at CNN. Stelter describes it as being the inappropriate payment of settlement hush money without properly informing investors. It’s an interesting conflict since the information could and would likely breach the secrecy upon which such an agreement is based, potentially causing harm to the shareholders in the process.
Stelter characterizes the environment that he’s never been a part of, for obvious reasons, as a toxic culture in which harassment by “for example O’Reilly or Ailes” was accepted. Camerota won’t go that far, not yet anyway, saying, “I don’t know that I would call it a toxic culture, but I would say that it was pervasive. That there was a feeling when I was there that Roger was the boss. It was Roger Ailes’ fiefdom. He was the king. There was no higher authority that you could ever go to – and there was harassment.”
“And I tried,” Camerota says, “in my own way, to raise the flag and to talk to people about it. I went to my superiors to talk to them about it, and there was certainly a feeling of ‘this is Roger, what are you going to do, who are you going to go to?’
If Roger Ailes was involved with Alinsky Camerota, then he’s not nearly as smart as his reputation indicates, or he just didn’t care. Anyone can tell from the distance of their living rooms across the country that she’s a lawsuit in search of a charge and a settlement.
There were some women at Fox who were like that, more than willing to use their looks to gain positions and quite possibly lead an overweight, attention-starved executive to convince himself something existed where it didn’t. Or worse, to possibly take the bait when it didn’t exist and he was being manipulated for profit’s sake.
It takes two to tango, but only one side of that equation leaves their former position in shame. The female side, some of which might be labeled by some as gold-diggers, leaves the relationship with a lot of cash; Gretchen Carlson and Rebecca Gomez, for example.
Aggressive sexual harassment is one thing, but falling prey to a set up is quite another. There may be elements of both at play or there may not. The investigation will probably provide the answers. However it shakes out, It sounds like Camerota is already on the inside of the next story, unless it’s fake news.
Cuomo never said a word the entire time, which is very unusual. Is this something that, for some unknown reason, he’d rather not get into?
