TNN It’s common for late nights hosts to criticize presidents. However, former late night show host Jay Leno thinks the Trump bashing is not funny. He says it has become too political and nasty and he is warning late night hosts to cut it out.
In an interview with the New York Times, Leno said the following:
“We live in an era now where if you don’t take sides, both sides hate you. Bush was dumb, and Clinton was horny…When I was doing a monologue, I never questioned anybody’s patriotism — you questioned their judgment.”
“I am not a Trump fan at all, not in the slightest, not in the least. But this constant pounding does have a tendency to anesthetize your feelings […] It should be called, ‘What Did Trump Do Now?’ That’s basically what everybody’s monologue is. You almost wish for a normal day, just to have a joke.”
Not all late night hosts are overly mean towards Donald Trump. To his credit, Jimmy Fallon said criticism over a friendly interview he did with Donald Trump last fall is not going to cause him to change. But Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel have gotten overly political. They don’t make fun of Trump – they bash him endlessly.

It’s nice to see a Hollywood celebrity who isn’t obsessed with bashing Republicans or criticizing Trump.
I wish all hosts could be like Jay Leno!
